SPORTSMAN OF THE MONTH

DiMaggio was famous for his 56-game hitting streak. He was playing for the New York Yankees for 13 years and he was the only All-Star player. In 1969, he won the centennial of professional baseball poll as the sport's greatest living player. His brothers were working as major league center fielders. The main problem which the Yankee stadium faced for right-handed hitters was the deep left and the center fields were almost impossible to get a home run so DiMaggio blasts hit could have been home run anywhere else but at Yankee stadium  they were merely long outs.
DiMaggio was married to Marilyn Monroe, famous film star. This marriage did not stay for a long time; it was ended after 274 days. There was an incident which was related to the ending of the marriage which occurred in " The Seven Year Itch" scene with her skirt blowing up . The divorce was on the grounds that DiMaggio was mentally cruel to her as his biographer Richard Ben Cramer asserts that this marriage is full of violence.
